GPT-4 Turbo, the latest model from OpenAI, was introduced in November 2023 and has since undergone several upgrades. The most recent version, gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09, was launched in early April 2024. According to OpenAI, GPT-4 Turbo has a 128,000-token context window, equivalent to 300 pages of text in a single prompt, and training data knowledge up to December 2023.
Additionally, GPT-4 Turbo has reclaimed the title of ‘best AI model’ from Anthropic’s Claude 3.
OpenAI reports that the updated version of GPT-4 Turbo outperforms its January 2024 counterpart on various benchmarks, including MMLU, MATH, and GPQA. CEO Sam Altman commented that the latest version of GPT-4 Turbo is “significantly smarter and more user-friendly.”
